Villa Matilde Falanghina 2018
|Region||Italy, Campania, Falanghina|
Bright golden-tinged straw-yellow. Aromas of canned pineapple, vanilla, sweet spices and lime. The juicy apricot, peach and resin flavors linger nicely and show a little more restraint than in past vintages of this wine or in the 2018 Falerno del Massico Bianco from this producer. I appreciate the wine's reticence, though it remains fat and luscious. I have no doubt that many will find this style appealing.
Plump and juicy nectarine fruit is accented by grated ginger and almond biscotti notes in this fresh and zesty, light- to medium-bodied white. Floral and stone details drive the finish. Drink now through 2022. 40,000 cases made, 4,000 cases imported.
Spring blossom, exotic fruit and banana aromas lead the nose. It's light-bodied and refreshing, with flavors of pineapple and peach accompanied by crisp acidity.
