Bootleg Red Blend 2012
|Region||California, North Coast, Napa County|
Our passion is in the art of blending. We are untraditional in form and flavor, crafting an unexpected varietal combination. Bootleg produces big, luscious red blends with loads of dark fruit and power. We've used Merlot from Napa's Stagecoach Vineyard as the base for its upfront fruit flavors and soft tannins, making the wine approachable early on. The combination of other varietals offer structure, depth and a powerful richness that round out this bold red blend.
This wine combines Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Zinfandel from multiple appellations, including Atlas Peak, Coombsville and Mount Veeder. Funky in cinnamon stick and clove, it features a silky, medium-sized build and soft, generous tannin, with a dry, spicy finish.
Focused and well-structured, this offers appealing accents of currant, mint and cedar. The tannins are big but ripe. Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Zinfandel. Drink now through 2023. 4,972 cases made.
