E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône 2019
|Region||France, Rhone, Cotes du Rhone|
Deep and dark red. Shiny. A bouquet of fresh fruits with red berries and spices. The palate is full, round and racy. Rounded and smooth tannins. A full-bodied, rich and intensely aromatic wine. Pair with cold meats, meat, game bird and cheese.
Dark ruby. Spice-accented cherry and black raspberry aromas are complemented by suggestions of pungent flowers and cola. Fleshy and energetic in the mouth, offering nicely concentrated red and blue fruit flavors that tighten up steadily with air. Shows very good energy and lift on a long, gently tannic finish that leaves behind repeating red fruit and spice notes.
This has beautifully integrated black licorice, plum puree, lavender, mulling spices and iron shavings. Harmonious and long on the palate, with a seamless texture and salty minerality lining the finish. Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2028. 450,000 cases made, 70,000 cases imported.
