Starting with the 2014 Chardonnay Sta. Rita Hills, this beauty comes from the two estate vineyards (Sanford & Benedict and La Rinconada) and was fermented and aged all in French oak. It offers a terrific bouquet of ripe melon, pineapple and sautéed apples to go with a rich, yet racy style on the palate. It has plenty of flesh and texture, good mid-palate density and a great finish, all suggesting it's going to keep for 4-5 years.

This appellation blend is very light in color and also quite restrained aromatically, with the slightest hints of lime, lemongrass and vanilla on the nose. The sip is quite tense, powered by lime acidity and a chalky mouthfeel. A richer white-peach element arises toward the finish.

This offers plenty of minerality to the green apple and fresh-cut pear flavors. Buttery and spicy notes are joined by savory accents on the finish. Drink now through 2021. 7,498 cases made.
