The 2019 Pinot Noir Angela Vineyards opens in the glass with sweet sage and licorice, giving way to crushed blackberries. Silky smooth upon entry, this is distinctly floral within with slowly saturating crisp wild berry fruits. It finishes spicy and long yet only lightly structured, leaving a pleasantly bitter tinge.

Floral meets the funk as blackberries and lilacs collide with straw and earthy oregano on the nose. The wine has lots of black-cherry fruit on the palate to go with notes such as bitter almond, balsa and Earl Grey tea. The tannins are positively mouth-drying, with modest acidity.
