The 2016 Chardonnay Uncovered is another rich, medium to full-bodied effort from this team that has ample toast and orchard fruit-like aromas, a fleshy, supple texture, good acidity, and a clean finish. It's well worth the going rate and has a great mix of both richness and freshness.

Lithe and precise, with elegantly layered pear and lemon verbena accents that glide on a lingering, crisp finish. Drink now through 2022. 2,362 cases made.

This wine is a blend of fruit from Frenchman Hills, Moxee and Roza Hills vineyards. Aged in 32% new French oak puncheons. Lemon balm, wet rock, candlewax and spice aromas lead to sleek but textured nectarine flavors that pique the interest. A lingering finish caps it off.
Vinous
- v89
(a blend of Frenchman Hills, Evergreen, Roza Hills and Moxee vineyards; all old vines with Wente clones; 50% vinified in concrete and 50% in partly new 400-liter French oak barrels): Bright medium yellow. Sexy perfume of pear, lemon curd, crushed stone, brown spices, brown sugar and pine nut. Silky, round and ripe, displaying good concentration and intensity to its flavors of musky peach, pear, quince, minerals and spices; firm but not hard-edged. This is a large cuvée (in 2017, production will be rising to 3,500 cases) and would make a great restaurant glass pour this fall (Sixto's vineyard-designated 2016 Chardonnays won't be released until next spring).
