Montes Alpha Pinot Noir 2017
|Region||Chile, Aconcagua Valley|
A bright ruby red color with tones of violet. The delicate nose offers exquisite aromas of red fruits including sour cherries and fresh strawberries as well as oral perfumes of roses, violets, and wild flowers. Subtle notes of fresh tobacco intermingle with candied aromas over a backdrop of dulce de leche (caramel). Generally smooth on the palate with rich acidity on the mid-palate that lends juiciness and heightens the fruit. The tannins are very smooth and round, and the weight on the palate lends character and structure to this Pinot Noir, leading to a long, elegant finish with abundant coastal-climate typicity
Leathery plum and cherry aromas are accented by tomato sauce, herb and leafy notes. This Pinot has a full mouthfeel with edgy, chewy tannins. Spicy cherry and plum flavors feature integrated oak, while a medicinal note rises up on an otherwise spicy and chewy finish.
